How to access NDIS in the Mallee

For: Anyone with a disability living in Mallee Victoria

📞 1800 800 110

Step-by-step guide to applying for NDIS funding if you have a disability, living in Swan Hill, Mildura, Echuca or the Mallee region.

Check if you are eligible

You may be eligible for NDIS if: You have a permanent and significant disability. You are under 65 years old. You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Visit ndis.gov.au or ring 1800 800 110 to check.

Get supporting documents

You need documents from your doctor or specialist that describe your disability and how it affects your daily life. Your GP at MDAS or Robinvale AHS can help with this.

Submit an Access Request

Ring NDIS on 1800 800 110 or visit an NDIS office in Mildura (Deakin Avenue). They will help you fill in the access request form. Bring your supporting documents.

Wait for your access decision

NDIS will tell you if you’ve been accepted. This usually takes 2-4 weeks. If accepted, you’ll be invited to a plan meeting.

Your NDIS plan meeting

The plan meeting is where you talk about your needs and goals. You can bring a family member, friend, or advocate. MDAS or the Mildura NDIS LAC can come with you for free.

Using your NDIS funding

Once your plan is approved, you can use your funding to pay for disability supports. This might include allied health, equipment, transport, or support workers. NDIS registered providers in Mallee include Swan Hill District Health, Mildura Allied Health Collective, and Mallee Kids Early Intervention.
