MDAS is the main Aboriginal community-controlled organisation in the Mallee and the first place most mob ring when they need help. They cover almost everything β and what they don't do, they know who does. If you're unsure where to start, ring MDAS.

VACCHO doesn't deliver direct clinical care β they're the peak body representing ACCHOs to government. Useful if you're moving between regions and need an ACCHO referral, or if there's a systemic issue that needs a peak body voice.

VAHS is one of Victoria's largest Aboriginal community-controlled health organisations. They're based in Preston (Melbourne) with clinics also in Epping and Fitzroy. Mallee mob can contact them for phone advice or referrals into the local ACCHO network (MDAS, Robinvale AHS).

What to do: Call or walk in to book a free intake appointment. Parents/carers don't need to be involved unless you want them to be. Aboriginal young people can ask for a culturally safe worker. Online chat and phone counselling available via headspace.org.au if you can't get to Mildura.
