How to access this service
Who can use it: Under 65, Australian resident, with a permanent and significant disability that affects daily life
What to do: Call 1800 800 110 and ask for an Access Request Form, or ask MDAS, Robinvale AHS, or Swan Hill District Health — their staff help fill in applications. Medical evidence from your GP is the main requirement. Identifying as Aboriginal on the form flags your application for culturally safe planning.
Aboriginal people with disability are under-represented on NDIS and strongly encouraged to apply. If the paperwork feels overwhelming, the LAC (Mildura NDIS LAC — also in this directory) or your local ACCHO will sit with you and help. Don't do it alone if you don't want to.

What to do: Call the LAC line to book a free appointment. They'll come to you — home visits and outreach to Swan Hill / Robinvale are standard. Ask for an Aboriginal Access Coordinator if you'd prefer culturally safe support.
LAC workers are free and their job is to make NDIS usable. If your plan feels wrong, hasn't been spent, or you can't find providers, ring them. They can also help if you've been rejected and want to appeal.
