How to access this service

Who can use it: Anyone renting in Victoria — private, public, or community housing

What to do: Ring the advice line or use the web chat. Have your lease and any notices with you. For tribunal (VCAT) hearings, they can send written advice or refer you to a duty lawyer. Aboriginal renters can also ring VALS for legal representation.

If you’ve been served a notice to vacate or the landlord won’t fix something, ring Tenants Victoria before you agree to anything. Most landlord notices have strict rules they must follow — if they got it wrong, the notice is invalid. Free and fast advice.
